Kindergym is a fun and engaging program for our youngest members – suitable for 0 to 5 years.

Introduce your child to the world of movement through gymnastics. Our kindergym class focuses on movement through play and exploration to develop motor skills and confidence. Our classes offer a fun way for parents and children to play and grow together. We offer a free come n try class for families who want to try out this hour of gymnastics fun before joining up.

We offer casual classes or you can buy 5 or 10 classes through our booking system (iclasspro), which are valid for 6 months.

Class times: Monday to Friday 9:45 am – 10:45 am and 10:45 am – 11:45 am. Classes run in school term and closed on public holidays.

WHAT IS GFA?

Are you looking for a gym sport that offers friendship, fun and fitness, and the chance to challenge your body and mind?

Gymnastics for All is a sport for everyone, regardless of age, gender or ability. It is the perfect activity to prepare children for long-term participation in any sport and to develop basic movement skills.  Start here, go anywhere!

It is the starting point of teaching the dominant gymnastic movement patterns of statics, landing, spring, rotation, locomotion and swing, which we deliver in a fun and supportive environment with qualified coaches.

Class times:  GFA runs during school terms only. 
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 4 pm to 7:30 pm

WHAT IS STEPS?

Koorana’s pre-competition developmental pathway for WAG athletes.

Steps is our pre-competition program for girls interested in taking their gymnastics to the next level and is available only by trial and invitation.

Gymnasts progress through 4 steps based on the level the 1-3 Gymnastics Australia curriculum, with the focus on refined and quality movement, strength and flexibility. At the end of the 4 steps, gymnasts may be invited to attend our WAG program and begin competition gymnastics. We run regular in-house competitions and skill check-ins to determine progress through the steps program.

Class times: Steps classes are on Thursdays and Saturdays, with training sessions being 1.5-2 hours duration.

WHAT IS TEAM GYM?

Team gym is an opportunity for athletes who have moved out of the steps program and/or who have excelled in GFA to compete in a fun and rewarding environment.

TeamGym is a program for groups of 6-12 gymnasts and comprises of three events: a floor routine with synchronous gymnastics dance moves and elements, a stream of single mini-tramp jumps and tumbling skills – all performed to music. TeamGym is a new and exciting way to compete in gymnastics without the pressure and commitment of WAG, while still having fun with your friends

WHAT IS COMPETITIVE WAG?

Guiding and inspiring gymnasts to reach their full potential, Koorana’s WAG program has a rich history of producing some of the best gymnasts in the state and in the nation.

Our team of highly qualified and experienced coaches guide our WAG gymnasts through the Australian National levels program from Level 3 to level 10 and beyond to Future International. With a program that has produced multiple State and National champions over many years, high levels of representation in SA state teams, access to some of the best facilities to train in Adelaide, membership in our squad is highly competitive and much sought after.

WAG

WHAT IS COMPETITIVE MAG?

A competitive program for boys who show potential in gymnastics to progress through the Australian National Levels program.

Koorana’s Men’s artistic Gymnastics program is one of SA’s leading competition programs. Class focus moves towards learning advanced gymnastics skills, shapes and gaining the strength required to participate in higher level Men’s gymnastics. The boys are given the chance to compete at the many SA competitions and use these opportunities to progress through the levels. We also have high level MAG gymnasts who compete at state and national level and provide excellent role models for our junior athletes. Our Koorana MAG coaches are ex-gymnasts themselves and have moved through the same pathways to achieve a high level of expertise, along with further coaching skills gained via the national coaching curriculum. Participation in this program is via invitation only.

WHAT IS ADULT GYMNASTICS?

Adult strength training and skill development in a non-competitive environment.

Adult Gym classes aim to teach basic gymnastics movements and skills in a fun and inclusive adult environment. Each session can be adapted to suit a range of skill and fitness levels and will be progressed as you improve. A great place to start for beginners or an opportunity to build skills and strength to keep you fit or improve your athletic performance in other sports like crossfit, parkour or ninja warrior.

Classes are run on Tuesday nights in school term and closed on public holidays. You can purchase casual classes, 5 or 10 session passes with a 6 month expiry (via iclasspro) to give you the flexibility to train as you want.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Sessions are 90 mins long and are structured with a warm up and an opportunity to learn different skills on different pieces of equipment
  • Strength training and whole body fitness, acrobatics and tumbling skills including rolls, somersaults, cartwheels, handstands, kips and muscle ups, basic ring and bar skills
  • Access to gymnastics equipment including trampolines, mini tramps, tumbletrack and a well set up pit for you to try your skills for the first time
